- An anime film production project for Sword Art Online was announced at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015.
- The film will be produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomohiko Itō, the same team responsible for the first two seasons.
- Further updates will be released in the 46th volume of Dengeki Bunko Magazine on October 10th.
