What You Need to Know:

Last month, we brought you the news that a sequel to the Cardcaptor Sakura manga will be starting this summer.
Now, it's been revealed in the latest volume of Nakayoshi manga magazine that a new anime project is also underway for the classic magical girl series!
Not much is known about what form the new anime will take, but we'll be back with more details as soon as they're revealed! In the meantime, check out the Japanese fan opinions on the new Cardcaptor Sakura below.

It's been over half a year since it was first announced that Yoshitoki Ooima's shoujo drama manga would be getting an anime movie under KyoAni.
Now, the main cast has been revealed. Deaf heroine Shouko Nishimiya will be played by Saori Hayami (Shinoa Hiiragi from Owari no Seraph) and former bully Shouya Ishida will be played by Miyu Irino (Todomatsu from Osomatsu-san.)

Today it was confirmed that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure will be getting a live action movie. To sweeten the deal, it will not be one movie, but three movies!
Joutarou Kuujou will be played by Kento Yamazaki (pictured below).
While it's super exciting, fans are going to have to wait a bit as the first movie is not planned for release until 2018! What are your thoughts about Kento playing Joutarou and a live action adaptation?

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last couple of months, you should know by now that FullMetal Alchemist is getting a Live Action Movie.
While it has been met with a mixed response, it's moving forward as last week the revealed photos of a few of the major cast members after announcing the cast a few weeks before that. Well today, it has been announced who will be playing one of the Deadly Sins in the Movie.
Playing the role of Envy will be Kanata Hongou! Kanata is a successful model and actor who also appeared in the Shingeki no Kyojin movie as well! We have gotten our hands on a picture of both Kanata Hongou and Envy. What do you think? Will he do a good job? Are you looking forward to the movie?

Super talented unit Walkure made up of Seiyuu have quickly announced their next single in lieu of the album release in July, and the Live concert tour coming up!
Titled "Zettai Reido Θ Novatic" it will go on sale on August 10th! So if you like supporting your singing space waifus, be sure to get the single on itunes or google play! As a side note their debut single "Ichido Dake no Koi Nara/ Rune ga Pikatto Hikattara" debuted at Number three on the oricon chart and has sold tens of thousands of copies!
For your reference, the members of Walkure (pictured below) are Junna(Mikumo) in purple, Minori Suzuki (Freyja) in Red, Kiyono Yasuno (Kaname) in Yellow (center), Nao Touyama (Reina) in Green, and Nozomi Nishida (Makina) in Pink.

It's been quite a while since it was first revealed that shoujo series Isshuukan Friends, or One Week Friends in English, would be getting a live action movie.
The cast for the main couple had already been revealed, but now the rest of the cast has been made known - check them out below!

It has been announced on the cover of the fifth volume of Rengoku ni Warau, the prequel to Donten ni Warau, that the popular manga-turned-anime will be getting a live-action movie adaptation.
The stage play adaptation of Donten ni Warau is currently enjoying popularity with fans of the original work, but it seems many are worried about the future movie - check out their comments below!
No other details have been revealed at this point, but we'll be back with new information as soon as it's released. Until then, let us know what you think in the comments!

What You Need to Know:

Some anime will live on forever - especially classics such as Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy, also known as Tetsuwan Atom. On top of getting an international adaptation in fall 2017, this little robot is getting yet another Japanese animation!
The new anime will be an adaptation of Tetsurou Kasahara's reinterpretation of Tezuka's original work. Titled Atom: The Beginning, this manga is set before Tezuka's timeline and explores the creation of Astro Boy.
Not much else is known about the anime as of yet, so until more details are revealed, make sure to check out the announcement magazine cover and manga PV below!

It has been revealed today that classic shoujo manga Haikara-san ga Tooru will be getting an anime movie in celebration of the series' 40th anniversary.
First serialised in Shoujo Friend magazine from 1975 to 1977, Waki Yamato's original work follows Benio Hanamura, a girl from the Taisho era who stands out for her unwillingness to conform to gender roles.
Details about the new film are yet to be revealed, including the staff and animation studio - all we've got so far is this rather mysterious visual! We'll be back with more information as it's released.

It had been revealed that tennis teen manga Baby Steps will be getting a live-action drama, which will be available on Japanese Amazon to Prime users.
For those of you not familiar with Baby Steps, the story follows Eiichirou Maruo, a beginner tennis player. The manga is still in serialisation and has already received two anime seasons.
Kazuyuki Iwata will be directing and Yuji Kobayashi (in charge of series composition for Sailor Moon Crystal) will be the scriptwriter. As for the cast, Koudai Matsuoka, Shouta Matsushima, and Kiwa are the first three members to be revealed, all of whom you can see in the first visual below!
